I hate insurance

I really really hate the first few weeks of the new year.

Well, I'm finally on the other side of Comic Con. It was pretty good except for some drama in the middle of the afterparty, which was more subdued this year.

On Friday Laudano made it down and we hung out for awhile before I decided to take a run to Whole Foods, since he had brought some fancy cheese and I wanted some of that truffle stuff again.I also didn't have anything to wear (or that I wanted to wear) for Con, and I saw some cute Star Wars shirts on HotTopic.com, so after Laudano got his mind blown by Whole Foods (he had never been there before) we zipped across the street to Lakeside. Of course Hot Topic didn't have the damn shirt, so I decided to run to Attic Salt, where I found a Fear & Loathing tee that I absolutely love. Laudano wanted beignets so he got some and then we left to come back to my place because it was getting late and I was expecting Scott and Lacey.

It was a pretty chill night. We just colored on my table and ate cheese and hung out. We went to bed kind of early because we had a long day. I had to wake up at 1 or so because Bryan had gotten off of work and I needed to let him in.

Woke up at 7, went and got gas and breakfast, then came back and started getting ready. Thursday night I had finally bleached my hair and it came out blonder than I was expecting, so it looked good against my clothes. Woke up everyone else around 7ish and Lacey did my hair. We made pretty good time and hung around watching weird videos until Sid made it there. Stopped at McDs for breakfast and then bombed out for NOLA. Got to hotel without incident and by some small miracle our room was ready for us, so we got to put down our stuff before going to con.

Sid, Lacey, Scott and I all wanted a lightsaber, but Lacey and I made a lap around the con and they were nowhere to be found, which sucked. Of course we lost everyone but saw some pretty good stuff and ended up spending about $50 each on some seriously awesome body glitter (shut up we're addicted) and I got some of my moonshine chocolate. It was a great time, even if there weren't any lightsabers to be had. We met up with the group after about two or three hours and decided to go to the Riverwalk for some grub. It's funny how we get psyched up all year for con and yet only stay about three hours, but we were worn the fuck out. Being old sucks the big D.

After Riverwalk we stopped at the corner store for water and went back to hotel room and chilled out before afterparty. Laudano went back to Con for his photo shoot. Holly and Dem Bois showed up and hung out for awhile before going back to con. Lacey and I experimented with our glitter and even put some on Bryan and Laudano's nipples. Sid inadvertently wiped some all over his face. Scott found some really cool Star Wars merch. Bryan started assembling Gundams. We had a fuckton of fucking

booze.

The party was okay. Some people got a little too drunk and clingy and others got a little too worked up about absolutely nothing, which put me in such a mood that Holly convinced me to go take a bath with my bath bomb (Glenn and Derek both got Lacey and I bath bombs from Lush, which was totally sweet) so I did, fully clothed. If Holly wouldn't have been there I think I would have lost my temper; she's such a good friend. She gave me a little something to calm me down and when that hit, I felt no pain. Derek C. and his friends showed up and when I got out of the tub, Stacie was there. We sat there and told stories and laughed our asses off, and only got one complaint about the noise.

I had fun and I love my glitter, but thank God it's over.

I've been working a lot of OT lately trying to get caught up and I'm so fucking happy tomorrow is Friday. It feels like this week wouldn't end, but I've also had two weeks of holiday back to back.

I've been reading like a madwoman and doing my surveys again, which netted me my solar charger and will net me a Caboodle if I manage to get another one done tomorrow. I've also been trying to write and this weekend I am going to try and use my Watson to take some pictures and see how those come out, because I finally got film. I read this amazing book called All The Light You Cannot See and it was one of the best things I've ever read. At the end of the book I had that warm glow in my stomach that only comes from being filled up by an excellent story. There's nothing like a good Nazi book. I have been doing my best to be productive and not lie around eating and taking baths, because a part of me still feels as if I am being yanked in two, and I don't know which direction to go in, so I am trying to be industrious and creative and open to learning.

This weekend I am going to L-Town to drop Jack off for a haircut and then Mom and I are going to visit Tee and Monica and the new baby.

Things to buy before Disney-
